On the first day of our OJT, we started by greeting all the employees and introducing ourselves. After that, we asked Ma’am Ailyn if there was any work we could assist with. She informed us that she would assign tasks once everything was ready. About 30 minutes later, Ma’am Ailyn gave us our first assignment, which was to encode and update the existing data related to the laborers.

On the second day of our OJT, the employees assigned us to work on a specific task that involved encoding the Personal Data Sheets of laborers and engineers into a new digital format. At first, the task seemed simple, but once I started working on it, I realized how detailed and extensive each employee’s information was. I was assigned to encode the data of ten employees, and each record contained multiple sections such as personal information, employment history, educational background, and other important details that needed to be transferred accurately.

The amount of information made the process quite challenging, and it required a lot of focus and patience to ensure everything was

encoded correctly. It took me several hours to finish my assigned files, but the experience helped me improve my attention to detail and my ability to handle time-consuming tasks. Even though it was tiring, it was also fulfilling because I knew I was contributing to the department’s data organization and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

On our third day of OJT, we continued with the same workload, which involved encoding old data into the new Excel format. Everyone in the office was working diligently and doing their best to meet the deadline, showing great focus and teamwork. We were all deeply engaged in our tasks when an unexpected problem occurred—the electricity suddenly went out due to an issue with the transformer. Fortunately, the computers were connected to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), which gave us enough time to save the files we were working on. Despite the interruption, we managed to secure our progress, and the experience reminded us of the importance of backing up our work regularly and staying calm during unexpected technical problems.
